Each ion pump is named with respect to its camera (Green or Red) and the side of the spectrometer it is on (echelle or collimator). Therefore the name gives the location of the pump (whereas labels like “Green #1” or “Red 10 o’clock” or “Green Prime” require more information to derive the position).
