Introduction

Nine vacuum-compatible linear potentiometers are located around the main spectrometer optical bench to provide feedback on bench movement. The potentiometers are connected to the digital input channels of a Galil RIO controller.

Five of these potentiometers are located on the vibration isolation pedestals and report on movements of the vertical position indicator as the isolator adjustment motors are operated.

Four of these potentiometers are located around the optical bench, and report on horizontal motions of the bench.

The document “KPF_Isolator_SW_Control” within the “Installation Details” section below provides more details on their use and locations.
