Broadband Calibration Sources

Introduction

This page includes details for the broadband calibration sources: one for the octagon and one for the flate field fiber ('wide flat’) system.

These sources are left with their switches in the ‘on’ position, and are turned on and off by remotely-controlling the relevant Cal Bench PDU outlets via kpfpower.

Note that in practice the “Flat Field BB Source” sits on top of the Flat Field Fiber enclosure.

The “Flat Field Fiber Shutter and Aperture Wheel” enclosure is the light-tight black box placed underneath the Calibration Bench at the lower right. The red box on top is the broadband source for the flat field fiber system.
