    • Yes. Though some indication that 2 of the 4 motors on K2 were running at different speeds. K1 detects that as a speed imbalance fault. That is not detectable on K2.

• NASA Funding?

  • Some NASA money was deposited recently.

  • Covers up to end of FY25

  • NASA “years” goes to end of Feb

  • Some pessimism about release of funds by OMB even if funds authorized by conress

  • Also, yesterday the “recession” process advanced, which is another tool to cut off funding

  • Proceeding as normal with call for 26A for NASA

• Instruments

  • SCALES arrive in Dec/Jan

  • HAKA DM arrived (high order DM for K2, 2844 actuators). Plan to install in Feb.

  • HISPEC got little mention

  • Discussion of KPF issues

    • HISPEC stability needs got mentioned

    • Not clear if HISPEC stability is required by as large a fraction of the HISPEC user community as there is with KPF

  • DEIMOS upgrade got brief mention, but timeline unclear

• 5 year plan

  • The community input appears to have driven the LRIS-2 priority up over the initial prioritization by SSC.

• White paper proposal to fund replacement of all our guiders

• K2 shutter work might affect pier repair schedule?

  • Decision on that this week … may be pushed back

Power outage fallout?

• Power outage from K2 elevator on Sunday

• Motor ground faulted

• Not yet in service

• Lack of communication during that event

  • Jim has expressed to TLT and Chiefs

• This was an example in the emergency response plan, but that was not followed

• Other issues uncovered:

  • OSIRIS terminal server memory wiped even behind UPS

• SIAS, instrument alarm cross, etc. which use this no longer work for AT&T users

• Caleb looked at alternatives for UNO Event Notifier, they all cost money.

• Can use Slack, but takes a lot of work to not flood notifications
