• Things are going well for new SAs. Rosalie is on island now.

  • In person meet and greet on Friday at 2pm at HQ courtyard

  • Michael isn’t here yet, so may have another one.

• Training matrix: the list is in good shape, need to fill out schedule, host, documentation

• Offices will be in our wing: Rosalie will be where Elena was, Michael will be where Juan-Carlos was.

• Will need to visit office space needs again. It won’t be the same as it was before. We will also be adding a new AO scientist in the future.

• Thanks to those who have done self-evaluations

• Randy will start going through those with us next week

• Many SAs filled out the “wrong” trakstar form apparently. Carolyn reports a lot of forms were “messed up”

Cass instrument access at night

• Two events: problems with LRIS and NAs could not access instrument

• In both cases, Dwight had to drive up because this area has been designated as fall protection area and SAs were not trained for that.

• Randy: designated fall protection because faulty welds were identified in that area

• Carolyn: actions being taken, night crew will be trained

• Communication was problem, even NAs were unaware

Reviewing DSI Products

• DDOI (Database Driven Observing Infrastructure) is component of DSI

• Need to be able to talk about what we’re doing in a uniform and clear way.

• Developing an Observing Description Language (ODL)

• Developed a set of test cases and tried to describe observations of those test cases in candidate ODLs

• ODL Stakeholders:

  • PI/observing team

  • Pipeline

  • Archive

  • Future development of DSI, new instrumentation
