~2 hours, once LN2 dewar reaches <10%

Detector temperature is controlled to -127C

KPF

EMIR running on kpfserver

It’s complicated.

We’re about to change the cooling system, so we need to get some experience with the CCRs.

LRIS red

MOSFIRE

Cron on mosfire@keanahaki runs hourly: 0 * * * * /usr/local/bin/ssh mosfireserver run_monitors.

That runs: monitor_glycol, monitor_dewartemps, monitor_cabtemps, & monitor_hatch

Response within a few hours is probably fine in the vast majority of cases.

Would be good to get this in front of the OAs. Especially on nights when MOSFIRE is in use as the observers won’t see this.

First level alarms get triggered:

Optical Plate > 60K

Vacuum High > 1mTorr

Response within 3 hours should be OK. Reconfigs usually take <= 1 hour

These are first level alarms (1) for the key elements. Additional (more critical) alarms are sent as conditions deteriorate further. Other alarms are key to rate of change for detectors and CCRs

KCWI blue detector temp

Blue lakeshore measures and controls blue detector temperature via kt1s TMP1, monitored by kcwimon TEMPBLUEDET

kcwi_info@keck.hawaii.edu

email

Alarm if:

  • below -116.1 deg C for >1min

  • above -108.1 deg C for >1min

  • not broadcasting temps for >10min

blue detector target temp is -110.1 deg C

KCWI red detector temp

Red detector controller measures and controls red detector temperature via krds TEMPDET, monitored by kcwimon TEMPREDDET

kcwi_info@keck.hawaii.edu

email

Alarm if:

  • below -130 deg C for >1min

  • above -124 deg C for >1min

  • not broadcasting temps for >10min

red detector target temp is -125.0 deg C

KCWI red package temp

Red detector controller measures red detector package temperature via krds TEMPPKG, monitored by kcwimon TEMPREDPKG

kcwi_info@keck.hawaii.edu

email

Alarm if:

  • below -140 deg C for >1min

  • above -126 deg C for >1min

  • not broadcasting temps for >10min

not controlled except via TEMPDET

KCWI blue pressure

Blue ion pump measures and controls blue vacuum pressure via kbvs PRESSURE, monitored by kcwimon VACBLUE

kcwi_info@keck.hawaii.edu

email

Alarm if:

  • below 1e-7 torr for >2hr

  • above 1.2e-5 for >5min

  • not broadcasting temps for >2hr

  • not being HV=1 (ON) for >2hr

blue ion pump is turned off during blue fills due to spikes auto-shutting down due to high voltages

KCWI red pressure

Red ion pump measures and controls red vacuum pressure via krvs PRESSURE, monitored by kcwimon VACRED

kcwi_info@keck.hawaii.edu

email

Alarm if:

  • below 9.5e-8 torr for >2hr

  • above 8e-6 for >5min

  • not broadcasting temps for >2hr

annoying quirk, red ion pump always reports HVON=1, even when the pump is actually off

KCWI electronic cabinet temp

Red lakeshore measures electronics cabinet via kt2s TMP7, monitored by kcwimon TEMPCAB

kcwi_info@keck.hawaii.edu

email

Alarm if:

  • below 275 deg K for >1min

  • above 295 deg K for >1min

  • not broadcasting temps for >10min

KCWI electronic cabinet heat exchanger power status

Eaton3 controls electronics cabinet heat exchanger power status via kp3s PWSTAT4, monitored by kcwimon EXCHANGE

kcwi_info@keck.hawaii.edu

email

Alarm if:

  • 0/OFF for >5min
