• Went through Dennis Crabtree report with Hilton, Keck is top non-survey telescope. Looked at some “alt metrics” for public engagement/awareness.

• FY21 will have DSI which will now be ramping up

Remote power cycling instruments

• UNO will be working on this. Instrument masters can help by enumerating items which need to have this control.

• Jim: remote control of coolant valves?

  • Truman is working on coolant flow sensors.

Time accounting on night log and metrics

• Joel claimed that time lost tickets should include all troubleshooting time. Is that the case or should it only be lost observing time between twilights.

• Lost time on tickets should be “would you have been observing otherwise”. Note troubleshooting time and note whether it would have affected observing other under conditions.

• Also note if this delayed start (i.e. focus had to be pushed from twilight to dark time).

• DSI will presumably replace metrics. Similar to how we will no longer have to try to determine calibration association after the fact, we will no longer have to figure out what was happening during the night after the fact as the current metrics does.
