Detector Warm Up and Cool Down

LN2 Based Procedures from Kodi

CCR Warm Up Procedure

See day log K1-35087

  • Power off the ion pumps

    • modify -s kpfgreen COL_PUMPON=No

    • modify -s kpfgreen ECH_PUMPON=No

  • Set the lakeshore to ramping control with a rate:

    • Ensure ramping is on: show -s kpfgreen STA_CCDRMO COLDHEADRMO should both be “On”

    • modify -s kpfgreen COLDHEADRMP=1.5

    • modify -s kpfgreen STA_CCDRMP=1

    • The ramp units are degrees per minute

  • Change the target temperature

    • modify -s kpfgreen COLDHEADTRG=40 STA_CCDTRG=40

CCR Cool Down Procedure

  • Set the ramp rates:

    • modify -s kpfgreen COLDHEADRMO=on COLDHEADRMP=1.5

    • modify -s kpfgreen STA_CCDRMO=on STA_CCDRMP=1

  • Start the cold head cooling:

    • modify -s kpfgreen COLDHEADTRG=-110

  • Wait a few minutes to let the CH start cooling, then:

    • modify -s kpfgreen STA_CCDTRG=-100

  • Once everything is down to temp or levels off because of the higher partial pressure in the cryostat then give it another 2 hours and turn on the ion pump:

    • modify -s kpfgreen COL_PUMPON=Yes
