Troubleshooting

When troubleshooting problems, the problem may result from one of several sources. A critical step is to determine whether the problem is within Keck (in which case Keck is responsible for fixing it) or outside Keck (in which case the remote site is responsible for fixing it).

  • Problems Within Keck. Keck is responsible for fixing any of the following problems:

    • Problem with the VNC server host.

    • Problem with the VNC display host at Keck.

    • Problem with a router within Keck.

    • Problem with a Keck polycom or Zoom client station

  • Problems Outside Keck. Keck is not responsible for any of the following problems:

    • Problem with a router outside Keck. Notify network administrator or have remote observer contact their site's sysadmin as appropriate.

    • Problem with the VNC display host at remote site. Have remote observer contact their site's sysadmin as appropriate.

    • Problem with the Polycom or Zoom station at the remote site.
