KCWI mapping of the center of the COSMOS deep field (10:00:24 02:10:55). We could cover a region of 10arcminx10arcmin in 20 nights (40 min exposures). | KCWI | 20 nights |

KCWI mapping of the core of a nearby star forming region. Can get gas dynamics, density of an HII region, things like that. Several candidate targets exist in the summer Milky Way which makes them second half objects in May which pairs well with idea 7 for a first half target. | KCWI |

Create a high resolution spectral template library, using NIRSPEC and perhaps HIRES | NIRCSPEC, HIRES | 1-2 nights | Greg |
KCWI observations of all HII regions or OB associations in a nearby galaxy (e.g. M33), compare physical characteristics as a function of position in the galaxy. M101 is well placed in the beginning of the night and has ~8 HII regions in the NGC catalog all of which are one to a few KCWI pointings. Assuming an hour per pointing, this would be ~2 nights. | KCWI | 2 nights | Josh |
Monitoring of Solar System objects. We can take advantage of all the work already done to implement the twilight observing programs with OSIRIS and NIRC2. Io and Titan are visible most of the second half of the night in May. Neptune is visible during the morning twilight. Condition: No proprietary time for data taken under the current circumstances. → I propose monitoring of Giant Solar System planets too, so we can trace the evolution of their cloud coverage to improve mapping models of brown dwarfs and giant exoplanets. | OSIRIS, NIRC2 |

Creating a MOSFIRE spectral library of the ultracool Y-dwarfs (Teff>400K). Y-dwarfs share temperatures with giant extrasolar planets. These objects are extremely faint for most of the spectrographs currently available (up to J~22-23), but could be done with MOSFIRE integrating a couple of hours. There are available around 10 objects for this project. | MOSFIRE |

Examples from the past:
Deep Impact observations, HIRES and NIRSPEC, data were released immediately
Team Keck Redshift Survey. DEIMOS and MOSFIRE
