KPF Readiness
No additional power cycling capabilities needed.
We have one pending camera install the in “crypt” so we can monitor the agitator activity. This has been delayed due to safety rules.
The camera in the crypt is installed, but not working. We are unable to get in to troubleshoot due to safety rules. The problem is probably the PoE switch.
The cameras in the crypt are installed and working. Not sure what brought the PoE switch back to life.
Low Power Mode
I have scripted tools to reduce power use. KPF has limited flexibility in this regard thanks to the stability needs, so all the changes are in the AO and AO Electronics area. Running kpfEnterLowPowerMode
will power down the Ca HK detector and the guide camera reducing power load and heat generation in AO.
To resume normal operations, use the kpfRecoverFromLowPowerMode
script.
