MOSFIRE
The main POC is Josh.
No need for a battery. I’d rather not re-cable the power and I think we have a good procedure.
Procedure Before power down
Note: Josh will warm the detector to the temperature of the optical bench (~120 K) the day before.
Immediately prior to power down (or CCRs being powered off), summit techs should run the
mosfireDisconnect
script to shut the instrument down (same as if we were installing or removing MOSFIRE from the telescope).
Procedure during the power down
None
Procedure to bring back the system
Bring up the servers: start
mosfireserver
first, thenkaimana
If the servers are up:
Summit techs should run the
mosfireConnect script
(same as if MOSFIRE had just been installed or removed).Call Josh once this is done, so he can restore the proper temperature settings
If the servers are not up:
At the power strips on the instrument, power on:
A1, B1, B2, B3, B4, B6, B8
Follow this procedure on the MOSFIRE web page (reproduced below):
Go to the MOSFIRE CCR electronics rack located in the K1 machine room.
Switch the CCR from remote to local control using the switch located on the left of the dials.
Turn the dials until the speed reads 10.
Go to the MOSFIRE electronics cabinet on board the instrument.
Access the right electronics bay and locate the Lakeshore controller located just below the motion controllers.
Check the settings on the lakeshore. As long as the CCRs are running and the temperatures appear to be near their set points (~120 K), then the instrument is safe.
Call Josh if any questions
