Bench Isolator Motors
Table of Contents:
Introduction
The optical bench within the vacuum chamber is supported by five vibration isolation pedestals. Typically these isolators have a hand-crank that can be used to adjust the height of each isolator mechanism and therefore level the table being supported.
For KPF, these five hand-cranks were replaced by vacuum-compatible stepper motors. This allows for remote leveling of the bench via computer control (while the bench is installed within the vacuum chamber).

| This jumper ensures the motors will not turn on when the Galil powers-up. This is especially important as these motors are a heat source within the vacuum chamber. |
