UNO PDU labeling

  • Trouble power cycling NIRES guider

  • PDU not labeled

  • Instrument Leads should label outlet names

  • Kyle: good practices

    • Put computer name in the PDU outlet name

    • Put KTL dispatcher name in the outlet name

    • Put IP in name when appropriate

  • Spaces are ok in names

  • Report bugs (to UNO) so they can be fixed

  • RC: what is part of the instrument? are guiders part of instrument? AO?

  • GD: “resetting” a PDU?

Remote Ops Layout

• RO1 layout is being left mostly alone

• Will add monitors and hang Zoom from ceiling

• SA desk will be empty on next to OA facing windows

• Other side of room is free for configuration

• Randy wants to look ahead to how workstations are set up

• Do we want 4 monitors or 1 big 4k TV?

  • Varying opinions in the group

• RC: should we consider changing the VNC size to fit some monitor setup?

  • Tough on observers (at home) and existing stations

• Carolyn will talk to Jeff C about getting a test SA station set up we can look at

Telescope issue communications

• Email from CIT asking about how we are communicating when there are shutter problems

• Do we need web page? No one read the instrument “news” pages

• Should this be part of current set of automatic emailed notices?

  • Hard to know how early we’ll know

• Carolyn is currently manually emailing observers about major operational issues

  • Will ensure that we all get those as well
