Opt/IR detector requirements

• Camera D software for Nirc2. Led by Don N.

• Opportunity for SA to develop requirements for software. E.g. ability to reset itimes up and down.

• Percy: how strict was test for the Alad?

• Carlos, # of Alad crashes to compare with previous behavior.

• Document requirements: noise, efficiency, windowing, binning, min. integration time.

• Marc: noiseless skipper CCDs, e.g. limitations on windowing,

• Carlos: Hard to know if there might be a problem, e.g. charge transfer efficiency.

• MArc will circulate IR requirments document to SA group

• Carlos, Greg and Rosalie to develop this document.

  • Submit to MattM ASAP to get the ball rolling.

• Jim: external trigger to command exposures.

• Deimos upgrade to have 1 archon controller for controller 2 detector mosaics together.

Effort Reporting

• Are there efforts we are not capturing (new codes needed)?

• Benefits

  • Accurate instrument maintenance has helped get visibility for resources needed for instrument (for example)

    • DEIMOS throughput upgrade

    • LRIS refurb

    • ESI/NIRES retirement plans

    • AO dev help on AO nights

• Lesser known codes: e.g. reading night logs

• Jim: Send ideas for new categories. Things like: time spent on emails, are good to bill to general time code.

  • Goal is develop new categories that with work for our group
