ODAP and data access

• ODAP = web GUI to stream data

• Online Data Access Portal

• Working on command line interface which does not use any KOA account information, only Keck data

• Also can request previously ingested data

• Rosalie and Josh have provided feedback

• All instruments have L0 data access, no L1 yet

• Using hash code from KRO API

  • Not all users have set up remote observing

• If we tie this to remote observing software, there are new new python libraries which need to be installed.

• Access is by observer being on schedule and will stream data from that user’s scheduled instrument (according to the schedule)

• Josh and Tyler will work on integrating ODAP and remote observing software

• Limitations on web based interface come from KOA and mean users can not get data taken prior to connection. Doing this command line ODAP gets around that and may prod KOA to make updates.

SWOC Coverage?

• What will SWOC look like in the near future with upcoming retirements?

• SA consensus is that a single point of contact is good, provides structure to decision making.

• Jeff: Should there be other groups on call?

  • IT/computersupport? Yes. Though, easy to call SWOC, they usually can tell if it is software vs hardware easier than we can.
