  • Meeting mostly covered SLT, TLT, and org chart changes.

  • Regarding annual planning - what can be done at this point in the year.

    • For CI/Project level idea. There is a department level call currently, so talk to Jim/Carolyn.

    • No significant changes to CI process this year. Post on CI website

• Instituting a monthly report to improve coordination with people who report to John.

Instrument issues

• Are there things that people are working on that need attention.

  • LRIS - guiders, right people involved

  • NIRC2 - detector issues, right resources allocated. Some but not all overlap with people on NIRC2/LRIS

• Ben has some interest in EE overlap with instruments for cross training

• Brett perhaps could also assist with some instrument

• Guiders in particular are a weak point in the SA group. Good chance to refresh on documentation.

  • May want to continue to look into guider upgrades

• AO Galactic center starts May 15, some K1 AO late April. Final engineering date for K1 AO is Apr 22nd (KAPA/TRICK testing).

  • A lot of changes being made, should we have a software code stop date in place?

  • Don’t want to be in a bind to close to on-sky time.

  • OSIRIS being marked as offline rather than as a backup instrument.

• KPIC - Work ongoing. Things going back together okay.

• Visiting Scholars - Updates soon.

  • Only support for 1-2 scholars.

  • Some funded projects in general need better justifications for visiting scholars.

  • Josh away until April 20th, Randy/John may send out responses before he returns.
